TOO TOUGH FOR TEENAGE
Moroccan-based Zebras striker, Tumisang Orebonye, has not had the best start to the season. The former Township Rollers talisman has only managed one assist, and is yet to rattle the net in eight games.
His form is reflective of the club’s log standing in the 2022/23 season. Olympique De Khourigba are currently on three points after three draws and five losses, which puts them 15th in a table of 16 teams.
Following their promotion from Botola 2 (2nd division) to Notola Pro 2 in which both Orebonye and Kabelo Seakanyeng played a pivotal role, the team finished 10th in their maiden appearance in the top league.
Seakanyeng would leave at the end of the season to join Dibba Al Furaijah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a brief interview with Voice Sport recently, Orebonye acknowledged his and club’s disappointing start to the season. The lanky striker was, however, optimistic that the team will be firing on all cylinders after the World Cup.
“I feel this month’s break is the distraction we needed. It could work in our favour,” he said.
“I can’t be too hard on myself because the whole team has not been performing well. I, however, intend to work hard, and I believe it’s only a matter of time before I find my scoring boots again,” Orebonye told
