Alongside its spectacular seaside beaches, historic sites and markets, it’s the host of numerous festivals, a paradise for seafood lovers, and home to hip arts districts.

For such a vibrant city, it’s hard to believe that there’s also a gorgeous beach at its edge. Haeundae Beach is considered one of South Korea’s most beautiful beaches. Visit on a sunny day, and stay until the magnificent sunset.

Busan is steeped in history and culture and no visit will be complete without a visit to the colourful and Instagramworthy Gamcheon Culture Village, which has a number of quirky storefronts up its meandering hill, and the Haedong Yonggung Temple – a beachside Buddhist temple overlooking the sea.

Learn and view over 250 different species of fish at the Busan Aquarium, an edutainment-based aquarium with state-of-the-art facilities. Over at Songdo Beach, the Busan Air Cruise offers passengers an eagle eye view of the city and the sea via cable car. If you’re looking to learn more about the city you’re in, indulge in some of Busan’s history at the Busan Modern History Museum.

And for those who enjoy scouring markets for treasurable finds, there is no shortage of market-hopping in Busan. Gukje Market is one of South Korea’s largest markets, and there is plenty to find here! Busan is also home to South Korea’s largest seafood market, the Jagalchi Market, a definite must-visit for seafood lovers!

And don’t forget the food! Market trawling will bring you a host of specialty Korean street fare, from eomuk to ssiat hotteok to the famed puffer fish soup – all definitely worth a bite or two! For more information about Silkair, visit: www.silkair.com.
