A mix-up of dabbawalas (a lunch delivery system for office workers in India) sets in motion a touching relationship between two lonely souls in this movie from India. Ila prepares a fantastic lunch for her distant husband, but her meals are mistakenly delivered to Saajan, a widower, and an unlikely pen-pal friendship is struck by hiding letters in the lunchbox. This is a movie that is deeply rooted in India’s food culture, and the meals that Ila prepares will set a rumble in your belly. But ultimately, this is a very sweet and underrated film about two lovely characters, fantastically played by Irffan Khan and Nimrat Kaur, and their need for human connection.
