The Koppe Company

-

We’ve been lucky with our choices for BIG Appetite this issue, coincidentally choosing places that have terrific ambience. The Koppe Company has been on the coffee circuit for a few years now, run by two siblings with a shared passion for coffee, and recently opened their latest endeavor at a tourist landmark surrounded by the Brunei River: the Queen Elizabeth II Jetty.

Combining delicious coffee with serene views of the Brunei River is already a win in our books, but a partnership with author and local foodie Siti Kaprawi means that they also offer a variety of Greek desserts and snacks to go with their beverages. If you’re looking for a menu, you’re out of luck here, but if your tastebuds are looking for a continental adventure, then you’re at the right place. A small glass chiller displays the goods of the day, and on the day that we visited, we were treated to a variety of bread, scones, mains and desserts. We absolutely lived for their Stuffed Tomatoes and Peppers, their Apple Crumble, and their Moussaka. Dining on these simple but elegant fare while sipping on an iced coffee on the deck and taking in the surroundings of the Brunei River is certainly a memorable experience for the books.

The Koppe Company started in the cottage industry and they continue their support for local brands in this location. Waving the flag for their local counterparts, the interior of the cafe, an elegantly designed little nook, also displays a large shelf of local brands and products for customers to purchase.
