A movie about two brothers living separate lives, but both training toward the Mixed Martial Arts Championship. Brendan is a high school teacher who plays in the amateur ring for extra cash, while former marine Tommy has returned home to enlist his once-alcoholic father to coach him. Amid the wreckage of their broken family, the two brothers fight their way to the top until it becomes clear that they’ll be facing each other, and their past demons, in the finals. An extremely underrated and absolutely amazing film about two brothers fighting for their families and forgiveness, and if you don’t start weeping when The National’s song ‘About Today’ kicks in at the ending, then you have a heart of stone.

FUN FACT: The film was remade into a Bollywood movie called ‘Brothers’ in 2015, which became a blockbuster hit in India.
