All Things Luxury at the Modern Boutique

Luxury aficionados will find plenty to be happy about with the opening of Brunei’s first luxury boutique store. Located at the Shopping Arcade at the hub of all local luxe enthusiasts, The Empire Hotel & Country Club, the Modern Boutique opened on 8 August 2019 ready to dazzle visitors and locals alike with their display of high-end luxury brands that includes Gucci, Calvin Klein, Begg & Co, among others.

Offering a variety of accessories ranging from scarves, watches, sunglasses and handbags, shoppers and browsers would be pleased to note that the products are priced very competitively within this region. Added to the new accessibility afforded to locals who usually have to travel abroad to get their luxury goods, the Modern Boutique is also a welcome addition to the range of shopping experiences available in the Sultanate.

The Modern Boutique is a new outlet by SBC Sdn Bhd, who launched the first duty free shops at the Brunei International Airport in 2018. SBC Sdn Bhd is part of the Shinwoo Group based in South Korea that operated business under the areas of manufacturing, construction, trading and logistics as well as duty free shops.

The opening of The Modern Boutique was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awag Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awg Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II; Her Excellency Yoon Hyun Bong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea; and Mr Choi Sangkwon, the President of Shinwoo Group.
