Mr Baker’s Bakeshop

-

Pavo Point, the new building that has everyone raising their eyebrows since it first started transforming from a derelict building into a metropolis dream, only just opened its doors to the public earlier in the year. It seemed ripe for a Mr Baker’s Bakeshop, offering up their gourmet treats and healthy snacks in a highly sophisticated setting that melds effortlessly into the building’s designs.

Only a soft opening menu was available when we paid the café a visit, coinciding with another photoshoot taking advantage of the café’s beautifully presented meals and picture-perfect settings, but for a limited menu, it had much to offer. Sandwiches ranged from a delectable Portobello Mushroom Ciabatta Sandwich to an Avocado Open Toast that had us full for the rest of the day, and choices of delicious pies including a hearty Beef Stewed Pie and a Grilled Chicken Pie with Spinach Puff, and a number of sides. The counter displayed a few choice selections of their baked goods and desserts.

Mr Baker has long been known as a place that offers healthy goods and some pretty good coffee, and the standard remains here with an excellent collection of coffee by Common Man Coffee Roasters. Thirst-quenching cold drinks such as Lime Juice with Mint, and a good selection of healthy smoothies and juices, are also available.

But at this stage, walk into a Mr Baker branch and you’ll come to expect what is available in any outfit from Mr Baker: friendly service, great meals, hearty baked goods, delicious desserts, good coffee and photoready settings. We’ll definitely be back when their full menu is ready.
