Kitaro Restaurant

-

Opened earlier this year in Gadong, Kitaro Restaurant stands out in stark contrast from the hustle and bustle of its surroundings with its calming, grey facade. Nothing on the outside indicates what’s going on in the inside, a smart decision, because once you step into its smooth grey walled interior with wooden accents, you are immediately transported from the traffic laden road not five steps away from its entrance and into a quiet haven.

It’s a medium sized space with high ceilings and modern wooden furniture, but no one is elbowing one another in here. There is a lot of breathiness to the space and you could easily have a nice tête-à- tête or a group meal in relative privacy. But if privacy is what you want, they offer two private rooms just for that, too.

Japanese cuisine is presented with as much sophistication as its interior, and a platter of sushi is almost too beautiful to eat. Don’t follow those urges, because they taste like a dream. From their noodles, bento assortments, teppanyaki to sushi selections, there are no bad choices here. Their latest Poké Bowl offerings are a new favourite for many diners. Build your own bowl by choosing from a selection of two bases, five toppings, and one meat, and maybe go for the additional premium toppings (the mango was a surprisingly delicious twist) so you can enjoy a delicious, nutritious meal your way. The Poké Bowls are available for delivery (you can order ahead online) and dine-in, and we would strongly urge you to get on with that.
