ASSASSIN’S CREED (2016)

If Assassin’s Creed proved anything it was this: pairing up an award-winning director with an all-star cast does not always equal a successful movie. Director Justin Kurzel reunited with stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard right after the success of Macbeth, but what magic he created with the two in that movie was unfortunately absent in this one. But it had some other great things going for it: a stunning location, crazy parkour action, a plot, yet it still ended up being a beautiful movie that was just meh. It’s possible that the movie just took itself too seriously, but it’s still worth a watch for its thrilling action and great performances. Just keep your brain on this time - you’ll need it to make sense of the baffling storyline - but keep your sense of humour at the door.
