What sets Seri Maharaja Restaurant apart from your standard curry house is not the décor – a typical brightly lit restaurant with an array of Indian snacks on the counter (the television screens playing old Bollywood films is a nice touch, however). It’s not the service – fast, polite, perfunctory. What sets it apart is quite simply, the food. There are so many dishes in the menu that it’ll make your head spin, but to sum up: there are choices of mutton, beef, chicken, seafood and vegetable. There are also tandoori and briyani options, Platters to Share, plenty of bread options and Chef’s Specialties. The chicken briyani was fragrant and served with a heady dish of curry. If you’re here for breakfast, try the dosai - we had the plain dosai and the Family Dosai (twice the size, and the fun!) - a crispy pancake served with sambar and chutney. Delicious!
