You would think, at this stage in Brunei’s Bubble Tea craze, that one would be sick of brown sugar and tapioca balls. Not even close. Mita Tea Shop opened in Times Square Shopping Complex last May and local bubble tea lovers rejoiced over a new variety of bubble tea. A franchise that originates in Taiwan, we were informed that the beverages prepared here are made using traditional methods: brown sugar syrup is stirred by hand, raw pearls are cooked over low heat in brown sugar water, and everything is freshly cooked and free of additives. Sure enough, our Brown Sugar Bubble with Fresh Milk and our Milk Tea with bubbles (the former a favourite and the latter a favourite with the locals) had bubbles that had us furiously and delightfully chewing. Delicious!
