Brunei records one new imported COVID-19 case
One new imported COVID-19 case has been confirmed in the country on Friday, announced the Ministry of Health, leading the total number of cases in Brunei to 252.
Case 252 is a 29-year-old man who arrived in the country from Indonesia via Singapore on 15 June 2021.
This case has no symptoms of infection. Investigation and contact tracing have confirmed 12 close contacts who arrived together with the case and were quarantined upon arrival.
At present, all cases monitored at the National Isolation Centre are in stable condition.
With the development, the sultanate has reached 408 days without local transmission of COVID-19.
A total of six active cases are currently being treated at the National Isolation Centre and all of them are in stable condition.
As of Friday, 642 individuals have undergone mandatory self-isolation at the monitoring centers provided by the government and a total of
111 imported cases have been reported since the last local case on 6 May 2020.
At present, a total of 20,138 individuals have completed their mandatory self-isolation at the monitoring centers For the past 24 hours on Friday, a total of 503 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus which brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 136,567.
