Rentokil Initial Brunei recently partnered with local NGO Foodlife Brunei, as part of its Rentokil Initial Cares initiative to provide donations and food ration to the underprivileged communities.

The collaborative donation drive involved a channel of assistance for 18 families and individuals in all four districts including low-income families with children who are either underweight or diagnosed as Failure-to-Thrive (FTT).

A contribution of $1,800 was made by Rentokil Initial Brunei to purchase necessities for underprivileged families.

Donated items include daily nutritious food, monthly rations of basic food and non-food items by Foodlife Brunei. The social enterprise also provides specific needs to underprivileged families which include milk formula and diapers.

Moreover, the company’s participation in the donation drive is part of its Rentokil Initial Cares mission, where it aims to deliver lasting positive impacts for society by tackling issues pertinent to the communities, including improving the wellbeing of disadvantaged communities.

Established in 2019, Rentokil Initial Cares lends a greater focus to the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and programmes to promote active volunteerism through charity and activities.

The Rentokil Initial Cares include direct donations as well as educational talks on safety and hygiene, along with donations of hand sanitisers.

Through its CSR initiatives, Rentokil has donated a learning centre to Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam that provides rehabilitation and educational training for people with a wide range of disabilities and needs.

This also includes a contribution of $1,800 to support the running of the school and bottles of hand sanitiser to help spread the message of the importance of good hand hygiene.

As for future plans, Rentokil Initial Brunei aspires to expand its Rentokil Initial Cares initiatives with other NGOs and to help as many communities in need as they can.

“It has been our mission to “Protecting People, Enhancing Lives” for our clients. Thus we would like to give back the positive impacts of creating peace of mind to Brunei’s community, particularly, the underprivileged families,” said the company.
