I live for the hunt and the excitement you feel when you find just what you’ve been looking for, or something you weren’t even aware you were on the lookout for. But in muck diving, it’s not always just about finding a specific creature. Sometimes, you get so lucky that you can see specific behaviour. Muck diving makes divers slow down and really spend a lot of time looking around a small area. This makes it easier to observe symbiotic relationships in the ocean, such as an emperor shrimp on the back of a sea cucumber or a tiny, translucent shrimp in an anemone.
