Alimathaa House Reef: Nurse Shark Mating Night Dive
Imagine having 50 to 80 sharks swimming around you. The locals shared with me that many years ago, people used to dump food waste in the area and the sharks became used to foraging there. They still associate the sound of boat engines with food, so, as soon as we jump in, these beautiful creatures swarm around us. They are completely used to the presence of humans. In fact, they are so comfortable that we are treated to a fascinating display of shark mating behaviour. It’s a real bucket list experience!
