Getting there: Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport is the main gateway, with flights coming from most major Middle Eastern and European cities as well as regular nonstop flights from New York, Chicago and Montreal
Getting around: Buses are by far the most common way of travelling in Jordan, but timetables are scarce, so asking around is essential. However, roads are generally good, so Amman to Aqaba, for example, will only take about four hours. Renting a car and driving yourself is another option, since road signs are typically in English as well as Arabic, but road rules tend to be only loosely adhered to. Domestic flights are inexpensive and reliable, with Amman to Aqaba taking only 30 minutes
