Orchids of the Andes

The Andes may be almost 20,000km away from Singapore, but you need not travel that far to see beautiful orchids from the region. Until March 24, 2019, Gardens by the Bay’s Cloud Forest holds its Orchids of the Andes display. Orchids of the Andes showcases orchids from the Tropical Andes, an area within the mountain range that is renowned for its wealth of biodiversity. This is the first orchid display of its kind in Asia. Across the duration of the display, visitors will get to see 3,000 orchids of 85 types. These will dot a landscape featuring elements of the Andes such as Inca ruins, a volcano, a cavern, waterfalls and even “llamas”.
