Kaan is a Fantastic Thrilling Spectacle

KAAN IS A NEW HYBRID OF LIVE ACTION AND CINEMA, STAGE PERFORMANCE AND WORLDCLASS TECHNOLOGY THAT WILL THRILL AND DELIGHT THE ENTIRE FAMILY.

-

Kaan is a delightful entertainment that is sure to delight everyone, especially the younger members of the family who can let their imagination go as they journey into the fantastical worlds that Kaan is flung into.

CREATIVELY ADAPTED CLASSICS

This world of imagination, inspired by classic Thai literature, and creatively adapted into 75 minutes of ceaseless wonder will have you gasping in awe at the creativity of the production and the dancing, acrobatic ability of its many stars.

For a young man like ‘Kaan’, reading thick tomes of Thai literature in a library is no different from taking sleeping pills, as the ancient narratives and drawings lull him to sleep. But in this fantasy world the librarian hands him a book with Kaan’s name on the cover and tells him to read it. The young man opens the book, and the unexpected happens: he is warped into the story along with his sidekick ‘Gabilpuksa’, and they embark on a fantastical adventure where the characters in ancient literature come to life. They have to wager everything they have, use their wits and physical abilities to find a way to return to the real world.

MYTHICAL CREATURES

The entertainment is a mixture of live action and big screen images with mythical creatures, seeming very real, emerging from the sea. Overhead, and I mean right overhead, fantastical flying machines creak, dragons flap their wings and flying lizard creatures swish just above the audience.

Each world is different than the previous with new challenges for our two heroes to overcome. It is thrilling but is also filled with whimsical humour such as when Kaan takes selfies with the captain and crew of a pirate ship. You too are encouraged to take pictures – but only with your camera phones.

THE UNEXPECTED

Some of the extraordinary creatures are very real as a troop of elephants is paraded into the theatre, past the audience and on to the stage where they perform in their own amusing style. There are colourful costumes – with many changes – lightening flashes, thundering music, bubbles floating everywhere and even rain!

Creatures, monsters, images and people rise out of trap doors, sweep down from the ceiling, come out of the wall and swoop in behind you. There is so much going on at times that trying to take it all in is half the fun. If dad is thinking this is not for him, there are a few minutes of poll dancing to grab his attention.

OUTSTANDING CAST

The extraordinary theatrical experience brings together an outstanding cast and crew of more than 600 creative professionals who spent more than three years developing this project and over two years in rehearsals to ensure that the 75 minute spectacular show thrills and enchants its audience. KAAN is presented by Singha Corporation in the SINGHA D’LUCK Cinematic Theatre in Pattaya, Thailand.
