ENJOY THE HIGHS AT ARTEMIS

WESLEY GUNTER FOUND THAT NOT ONLY ARE THE VIEWS BREATH-TAKING AT ARTEMIS GRILL AND SKY LOUNGE, ATOP CAPITAGREEN IN SINGAPORE’S CBD, BUT SO ARE THE COCKTAILS AND THE ECLECTIC BAR MENU.

-

If you have a fetish for skyscraper porn and a good tipple, look no further than Artemis Grill and Sky Lounge. There’s no such thing as skyscraper porn by the way, but the view 40 floors above ground atop the Capitagreen building is simply breath-taking, and it gets even better after consuming more drinks from Artemis’ wonderfully curated beverage menu which prides itself on its variety of gin inspired cocktails.

OPEN CONCEPT

The rooftop bar has an open canopy concept so you can have a gorgeous view of the moonlit sky while enjoying your beverage or company. The open space is also perfect for the weary office crowd who can finally enjoy some fresh air and a nice breeze after being cooped up in their offices the whole day.

To the menu. Artemis’ drink list has a specially dedicated section of gin cocktails made with 1724 and Fever Tree tonic water. If you’re a gin type, you will know your tonic water brings out the character of whatever gin you have mixed with it and you can’t do better than 1724 or Fever Tree.

IRON BALLS

These delicious gin cocktails take on a refreshing spin with spices from various countries such as the French inspired made with fresh ginger and vanilla; the Thai inspired containing pineapple chips and sweet basil; and even a local Singaporean number titled ‘Paper Lantern’ made with plum and peppercorns.

Undoubtedly, the best part about these gin cocktails is not just the ingredients, but the type of gin selections which contribute to their amazing flavours that are the best of both worlds. For the more delicate cocktail, Sorgin Gin from France, which contains juniper berry, broom flower, grapefruit zest and sauvignon blanc is used; whereas for cocktails with a bit more spice, locally made Tanglin Gin is the spirit of choice with bright notes of Orchid, Indian Amchoor (a powdered form of green unripe mango) and handpicked spices and botanicals from Malaysia and Indonesia.

OTHER OPTIONS

If you love a good negroni, a must try is the

Piconi Sour made with Bulldog Gin, Picon Amer (a liquor made from dried orange peel), Campari, fresh lime juice, egg white and Carpano Antica Formula, a sweet vermouth in which its recipe dates back to 1786.

If you’re not really into gin, there are other great cocktails on the menu to keep you dancing through the night such as the Rosa Rosa, which is a fruity number that’s not overly sweet, made with rose wine, citroen vodka, grapefruit and cranberries.

ECLECTIC BAR MENU

With gorgeous views and premium cocktails, the icing on the cake to spending an evening under the stars would be Artemis’ eclectic bar menu with items such as the hummus served with grilled flatbread, Tahini, Za’atar and olive oil and the Tarmasalata served with cod-roe, charcoal grilled flatbread and Ikura caviar. Meat lovers will love the Spanish Chorizo served with pickled onions and paquillo peppers and the very hearty 200g O’connor Striploin served with chimichurri and violet mustard.

It’s never been a better time to get over that fear of heights.
