Out of Town

Beng Mealea. Less than 2 hrs scenic drive from town, this atmospheric and overgrown joy can be tacked on to a visit to Banteay Srey. Ample shade makes this a perfect picnic spot, but the terrain can be challenging so you’ll need your agility and slacks with an elastic gusset.

Koh Ker. Though this grassy, pyramidial complex is a 90 min schlep from town, reward comes in the form of a blissfully crowd free temple moment – a rarity these days.
