Malaysia to host tri-lateral terror summit

Southeast Asia Globe - - Panorama / On Our Minds This Month -

The upcoming Malaysia Philippines-Indonesia trilateral meeting in Malaysia in October will bring together three nations struggling to counter a rising tide of radicalisation that has taken the bloody siege of Marawi city as its rallying banner. The summit follows an inaugural meeting in Manila earlier this year that sought to establish more efficient intelligence-sharing channels between the region’s military and police – particularly in regards to the influx of foreign fighters from the Middle East, as well as terrorists radicalised by extremist groups within Southeast Asia.
