The 14th edi­tion of the Java Jazz Fes­ti­val will be toot­ing its way into the In­done­sian cap­i­tal at the be­gin­ning of March. Tens of thou­sands of fans are ex­pected to soak up an elec­tric at­mos­phere of big band, im­pro­vised rhythms and plenty of sul­try sax at one of the largest jazz fes­ti­vals in the world. On this year's lineup, which features 300-plus acts, is a mix of home­grown In­done­sian talent and in­ter­na­tional names. Ones to watch in­clude up-and-com­ing Amer­i­can Daniel Cae­sar and his crit­i­cally ac­claimed brand of slow, sooth­ing gospel and R&B, the elec­tronic soul of Lauv and the three-time Grammy-nom­i­nee Vanessa Wil­liams.
