McCol­lum’s 40 points get Blaz­ers past the Bucks

CJ MCCOL­LUM scored 40 points on Tues­day as the Port­land Trail Blaz­ers cooled off the red-hot Mil­wau­kee Bucks with a 118-103 NBA vic­tory. McCol­lum con­nected on 17 of 23 at­tempts from the field, in­clud­ing five of 10 from 3-point range, as the Trail Blaz­ers im­proved to 8-3 and handed the Bucks just their sec­ond de­feat. McCol­lum scored 19 points in the third quar­ter alone. Among his many high­lights, a wicked move around Donte DiVin­cenzo that brought the Bucks rookie to his knees. “When­ever you see a rookie you’ve got to be ag­gres­sive. At­tack them,” McCol­lum said. It was a break­out per­for­mance for McCol­lum, who had strug­gled to find his shoot­ing touch in the first 10 games of the sea­son.
