McCollum’s 40 points get Blazers past the Bucks
CJ MCCOLLUM scored 40 points on Tuesday as the Portland Trail Blazers cooled off the red-hot Milwaukee Bucks with a 118-103 NBA victory. McCollum connected on 17 of 23 attempts from the field, including five of 10 from 3-point range, as the Trail Blazers improved to 8-3 and handed the Bucks just their second defeat. McCollum scored 19 points in the third quarter alone. Among his many highlights, a wicked move around Donte DiVincenzo that brought the Bucks rookie to his knees. “Whenever you see a rookie you’ve got to be aggressive. Attack them,” McCollum said. It was a breakout performance for McCollum, who had struggled to find his shooting touch in the first 10 games of the season.
