Book charting lives of PM’s sons

PROFESSOR and author Chhay Sophal launched his new book charting t he lives of Prime Minister Hun Sen’s three sons at an event in Phnom Penh on Wednesday.

Entitled Three Brothers – New Blood Among the Heir, Chhay Sophal’s ninth book was launched at a press conference hosted at his own book café in the capita l’s Sen Sok dist rict.

The book is a culminatio­n of five years of research, including first-hand inter v iews. It of fers an in-depth look into t he lives of t he Prime Minister’s three sons, Hun Manet, Hun Manit and Hun Many.

The book provides an insight into life growing up with highly influentia­l parents, with themes covering major lessons they had learnt from their father, to intimate accounts of their personal and romantic lives, as well as their visions for the future of Cambodia.

After years of researchin­g the men for t he book, Sophal believes t hat all t hree brot hers displayed t he potentia l to become future leaders in the Kingdom.

When Sophal asked the three men whether they would like to succeed their father, he was reportedly told it would “entirely depend on support from party officials and the people”.

Sophal said he planned to write three or four more books in the future. Three Brothers – New Blood Among the Heir is now available at all major bookshops nationwide.
