IN MEMORIAM

We are very sad to announce that a member of our Surrey Board of Trade family has passed away. Former Board Chair (2006-2007) and Governor of the Surrey Board of Trade, Doug Watkins, passed away in August.

Doug Watkins was the first Board Chair that Anita Huberman worked with as CEO of the Surrey Board of Trade. Of course there are many fond memories of him in the course of making critical decisions for the organization or even going on the SBOT’S first international delegation to China together in 2007 with over 100 delegates. He was an active part of Surrey’s business community for decades, and also actively involved with the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, and many other community organizations. Doug was the President of the

Fraser Valley Real Estate Board in 1977 and he received the John Armeneau Professional of the Year Award in 1998.

The Surrey Board of Trade will miss him.
