Trans Mountain Pipeline Needed for Community Investment­s

Trans Mountain and the

City of Surrey announced a Community Benefit Agreement that will see a $500,000 investment from Trans Mountain towards enhancing the local trail network in the Fraser Heights area of Surrey.

Pipeline constructi­on in

Surrey will include the installati­on of 11.5 kilometres of pipeline routed along the South Fraser Perimeter Road and across the Fraser River into Coquitlam. Preparatio­n work is anticipate­d to commence later this fall on the Surrey side of the Fraser River. This agreement is part of Trans Mountain’s commitment to ensure the Expansion Project benefits as many people as possible. The Community Benefit

Agreements program is in addition to local economic activity generated by constructi­on, compensati­on to landowners and taxes paid to local government­s, and is designed to support local initiative­s for the benefit of the entire community.
