Flying Boat Festival
Get ready for the annual Flying Boat Festival this weekend and Botwood Day on Monday, Aug. 6.
This year’s event has lots of activities for all ages, including the following:
Friday, Aug. 3 Giant Bingo
Hosted by the Kinsmen Club of Botwood, starting 8 p.m. at the Harry Ivany Arena; 21 games with an $800 jackpot that must go.
Hosted by the Botwood Fire department at the fire hall, starting 8 p.m. Registration is $20.00 and you must be 19 years of age with photo id required.
Saturday, Aug 4. Craft sale
Hosted by the Botwood Mural Arts Society Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Harry Ivany Arena, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is a donation to the Mural Arts Society.
The 9th annual Gill Guild
The Gill family invites you to visit their table at the craft sale. All proceeds from their table, and their café are donated to charity in memory of their mother Minnie Gill.
Hosted by Botwood Boys and Girls club/CYN with face painting, bouncy castle, games, barbecue and much more. Location, weather permitting, the Sports complex on Military Road.
Sunday, Aug. 5 Ecumenical Service
Exploits Ministerial Association holding an open air service, featuring local talent, at the Botwood Airbase at 6 p.m., weather permitting. If weather is poor, service will be moved to the Salvation Army on Circular Road, Botwood.
St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Bishop’s Falls, will be holding their fall sale and tea on Nov. 17 beginning at 11 a.m. Admission $3.
Crime Stoppers Branch The Exploits Valley Crime Stoppers Branch is looking for new members. We meet once a month for approximately an hour and participate in three to four fundraisers a year that would require minimal volunteer time.
