The Boat parade starts at 9 p.m. from the marina. If weather is unsuitable the boat parade will be rescheduled for a later date.
Monday, Aug. 6 Lions Club Breakfast
Breakfast will be served 8-11 a.m. at the Lion’s Den on Water Street. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children.
Botwood Day Parade
The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Peterview Bridge, parading through down along Water Street, Sacrey’s Road, Twomey Drive and Fernwood Drive, then back to Water Street to finish at the Botwood air base. The Bicycle parade will join the main parade on the route at the intersection of Guide Road and Church Road to proceed to the airbase. The registration for the bicycle parade starts at 11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for floats, trucks, cars, motorcycles and bicycles.
Official Opening ceremony
Begins at noon, following the parade. There will be music during the day and evening with a giant Fireworks display at 10 p.m., weather permitting.

The Botwood Mural Arts Society is asking anyone who has recyclables to please donate them to our group as part of a fundraiser for the upcoming Global Mural Conference. The conference is being held Sept. 12-15. Art- ists from all over the world will be visiting our town at that time.
Legion Concert Aug. 23
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5 Botwood proudly presents “Ring of Fire: A Johnny Cash Experience” on Aug. 23, 8 p.m., at Botwood Legion, 7 Circular Road. Featuring one of Canada’s premiere Johnny Cash tribute bands from Ontario. Cost is $20 advance and $25 at the door. Tickets available at the Legion in Botwood or online at www.EXPERIENCECASH.com
With the warmer weather, the town reminds citizens to conserve water, recommending that watering lawns and washing vehicles should be done early morning or late evening.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5, Botwood, on Wednesdays from 7-8:45 p.m. Tickets are three for $5. Draw held at 9 p.m. There is a 50/50 draw each night. Tickets are sold at the Legion. Must be 19 years of age to attend.
