Valley theatre companies garner 13 nominations for Merritt Awards
Theatre Nova Scotia announced March 10 the nominees for the 2015 Robert Merritt Awards, with the Valley well represented among the nominees.
The Merritt Awards are presented annually in celebration of excellence in professional theatre throughout Nova Scotia in the previous year.
Two Planks and a Passion Theatre, based in Ross Creek near Canning, received nine nominations for its 2014 offerings, including outstanding performance in a lead role, outstanding original score and outstanding direction.
Valley Summer Theatre, based in Wolfville, received two nominations, in the categories of Outstanding Supporting Performance and Outstanding Production.
Windsor’s Mermaid Theatre also received two nominations for its newest production, Stella, Queen of the Snow.
