Vehicle break-ins top list for Annapolis District RCMP

Dec. 12.

Following are a few of the calls for service:

-- Dec. 5 at 11:06 a.m. at Margaretsv­ille. Police received a report of mischief where road signs had been ripped down and a barricade had been damaged. An investigat­ion was started. There are no suspects at this time.

-- Dec. 5 at 11:52 a.m. at Torbrook. Police received a report of dangerous driving.

-- Dec. 5 at 11:58 a.m. at Deep Brook. A resident in the area is concerned about the high speed of traffic and is requesting that police make more visits to the area and the use of radar.

-- Dec. 5 at 12:03 p.m. at Middleton. Police received a request from probation services to locate an offender who had breached conditions of their release. The man was located.

-- Dec. 5 at 6:17 p.m. at Torbrook. Police received a complaint of suspicious activity taking place in a vehicle. Police went to the scene and spoke with the occupants of the vehicle. No criminal activity was taking place.

-- Dec. 5 at 8:46 p.m. at Middleton. Police received a call about a suspicious person. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie and was outside the property that burned down two weeks ago. The complainan­t yelled at the person and they fled on foot. A patrol was made but nobody was found.

-- Dec. 6 at 1:26 p.m. at Wilmot. Police were called to a vehicle that had been speeding through the area. Members were not in the area at the time and were unable to locate the vehicle.

-- Dec. 6 at 7:25 p.m. at Bridgetown. Police were called to conduct a well-being check. The caller hadn’t seen their neighbour in several days. A patrol was made and the person was located in a local hospital and had been away from their home for the past number of days.

-- Dec. 6 at 9:57 p.m. at Carleton Corner. Police responded to a vehicle that had hit a deer. There were no injuries and the vehicle was drivable and the car had left the scene. The Department of Natural Resources was advised and the woman was later advised to report the incident if the damage was more than $2,000.

-- Dec. 6 at 7:59 p.m. at Victoria Beech. Police were called to assist a motorist who appeared to be lost and was out of fuel. Police drove to the location and the driver was advised to call CAA to help him.

-- Dec. 6 at 8:48 p.m. at Bridgetown. Police received a call about suspicious persons running around the business section of town. The complainan­t thought they might be the same people who earlier caused damage to Santa’s Village. The group was last seen heading towards Queen Street. A patrol was made but the suspects were gone upon arrival.

-- Dec. 6 at 11:33 p.m. at Bellisle. Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision between a vehicle and a deer. The deer was still alive. The damaged vehicle had left the scene. The Department of Natural Resources was advised. An RCMP member put the deer down.

-- Dec. 7 at 4:44 a.m. at Middleton. Police received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle that had stopped in front of the caller’s residence. They were looking at building supplies that had been left outside. The complainan­t turned on their outside lights and the vehicle left. No plate number was obtained. There was nothing missing.

-- Dec. 7 at 8:05 a.m. in Brickton. Police received a complaint that a vehicle had been gone through overnight. The vehicle was unlocked at the time. Nothing was taken. There are no suspects or witnesses.

-- Dec. 7 at 8:45 a.m. at Brickton. Police were called about a vehicle that had been broken into. The complainan­t didn’t know if anything was taken. There was no damage to the vehicle.

-- Dec. 7 at 9:07 a.m. at Middleton. Police received a report of a motor vehicle collision. A person came into the detachment to notify police that they had been in a vehicle crash. Driver and vehicle informatio­n was obtained, plus a report for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

-- Dec. 7 at 9:52 a.m. at Bridgetown. Police received a call of a traffic hazard on Highway 101 between Lawrenceto­wn and Bridgetown. The caller reported there were pieces of wood on the road – with nails in them.

-- Dec. 7 at 10:15 a.m. at Middleton. Police received a report of a collision on Commercial Street. Police went to the scene. A vehicle had run into the back of a parked vehicle as they were attempting to parallel park. Vehicle and driver informatio­n was provided to police. There were no charges.

-- Dec. 7 at 10:33 a.m. at Mount Hanley Road. Police received a complaint of a theft from a vehicle that happened overnight. About $100 in cash was taken. Other items were thrown about in the vehicle. There are no suspects. The incident is still under investigat­ion.
