Children tell us what Santa’s house looks like

Primary students put their imaginations to the test

- BY ASHLEY THOMPSON KINGSCOUNTYNEWS.CA

With the holidays upon us, we decided to turn to the experts to get the lowdown on what type of abode Santa calls home.

Is it a mansion with a garage large enough to house a sleigh and reindeer?

A tinsel-topped shack with an energy-efficient heat pump?

An igloo decked to the nines with strings of Christmas lights? Nope! Not even close. We asked the primary classes at St. Mary’s Elementary School to ponder this: What does Santa’s house looks like?

Dawson Aucoin is certain it’s shaped like a peanut. Connor Wamboldt feels pretty confident there’s a hat on top. And Brooklyn Smith knows one thing for sure – it’s big!

Here’s what the rest of our experts had to say:

Kaylee Oickle-Lenihan, age 5: A Christmas house with lights. Connor Wamboldt, age 5: Santa’s house has a hat on top of it.

Adelynn Sanford, age 5:

Red and white with no decorations.

Logan Clark, age 5: A gingerbread with an oven, a fireplace and a big chair. Adriana MacKinley, age 5: I think it has red on it and Christmas lights.

Margaret Roberts, age 5:

It’s a Christmas light that turns red, white and green - with reindeer inside.

Elijah Hutt, age 5:

He lives in a snow fort and builds snow toys.

Dawson Aucoin, age 5:

It’s red and shaped like a pea- nut.

Peyton Patterson, age 5: I think he has elves in it and they’re making presents for people.

Lilly Ward, age 5:

It’s red with lots of bright lights and Santa’s making presents. Brooklyn Smith, age 5:

Big! He lives in the North Pole and has a dog and cat.

Neveah Ernest-Johnson, age 5: It’s a big, red house with lots of lights and a sleigh on the lawn.

Harrison Franey-Hamilton, age 5:

A really big house.

Jordyn Burns, age 5:

It’s a square with a half circle on top and elves inside of it. The elves are making toys and Santa is working on the sleigh. Mrs. Claus is taking toys to the kids. Elliot Cook, age 5:

Red! Santa is inside the house and there’s a snowman on the lawn.

Audrey Clem, age 4:

Santa’s house is white and red. It has some snowmen and makes you think about Santa. Aniston DeBouver, age 5: Santa’s house is red with snow. He has reindeer and a Christmas tree.

Theo Franey, age 5:

Red and green. Santa gives out presents and has pet elves. JoJo Parent, age 5:

It’s white and red with Christmas decorations. And Santa is making presents.

Brooklyn Joudrey, age 5:

It has jingle bells and snow. It’s white and green with a Christmas tree. Inside the house he’s making cookies and Mrs. Claus is sewing, I guess. Riley Carey, age 5:

A big shape, I guess. On the inside of his house he’s decorating presents and he lives with the elves.

Levi Fynes, age 5:

His house looks straight up and flat.

Ayden Harris, age 5:

It’s decorated with Christmas lights and Santa is wrapping presents and I’m going to go there and help him.

Brynn Silver, age 5:

It’s brown and green with Christmas lights. Santa is wrapping presents and hanging out with elves.

Marley Buchanan, age 5:

Red with numbers on his house. He has a million toys inside.

Brook-lyn Fleming, age 5: Wood with no decorations and a lot of elves and a billion toys.

Journey Buchanan, age 5:

Red and yellow, decorated with stickers and stamps.

Jacob Ogletree, age 5:

Santa’s house looks like a workshop, and he’s making toys. Mrs. Claus is there making cookies for Santa.

Echo Acker, age 5:

Santa’s house has a pointy roof and it looks like a rectangle standing up. It has a Christmas tree and Christmas lights and elves inside – and a sleigh and reindeer!
