Break-ins averted in Kentville, Annapolis Royal
A trio of would-be robbers were stopped in their tracks by the RCMP before they could commit a series of armed robberies and break and enters they had been planning in the Kentville and Annapolis Royal areas.
After receiving information on June 22 that the individuals were allegedly planning to commit break and enters and armed robberies into a residence and businesses, the Kingston RCMP located the suspects travelling in a vehicle. Police stopped the car and arrested the trio, then searched the car, finding a replica pistol, a knife, bandanas, and breaking and entering tools.
The three people - Joel Andre Gaudet, 20, of Church Point; Kaileyne Laura Anne Thomas, 23, also of Church Point; and Logan Cromwell, 18, of Hilltown – are all charged with conspiring or planning to commit a robbery, conspiring or planning to commit a break and enter, possessing instruments or tools for the purpose of breaking into a place, two counts of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
They were expected to appear in Kentville provincial court on June 26.
