JULY 1

Mount Hanley Schoolhous­e Museum - 2130 Mount Hanley Road, open for the season. Open every weekend and holiday up to and including Labour Day, with hours from 1 to 4 p.m. July 1 Canada Day refreshmen­ts. Admission free but donations gratefully accepted.

Celebrate Canada 150 Day - from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Annapolis Valley Macdonald Museum 21 School Street in Middleton. Free musical entertainm­ent, refreshmen­ts, free museum admission, and free children’s activities. Middleton Fireflies will be on hand to sell barbequed hot dogs, pop, and strawberry shortcake. We will be playing cool games and making awesome crafts. Ages 5-12. Registrati­on is required.

Family Storytime and Craft Our Flag the Story of Canada’s Maple Leaf - from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Rosa M. Harvey Middleton & Area Library. Space is limited so please register each child beforehand by calling the Library during open hours at 902-825-4835 or doing so online. Caregiver is required to help children 5 years and under.

Try Something New Freeze Dance - 3 to 4 p.m. at the Rosa M. Harvey Middleton & Area Library. Outdoor activity for children ages 6 to 9 years. Space is limited so please register beforehand by calling the Library during open hours at 902825-4835 or signing up online.

JULY 5

Story/craft/duplo: The Mouse and the Elephant - from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Rosa M. Harvey Middleton & Area Library. After the story, you will be able to build your own mouse and elephant and other creatures that appear in the story. Sign up each week. For ages 3 to 6. This Thursday morning program will continue until August 16. Call the library during open hours at 902-825-4835 to register.

JULY 8

Annual Yard Sale at the Melvern Square United Baptist Church -8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. variety of items. Homemade bake goods and preserves. Hamburgers, hotdogs, and refreshmen­ts available. 377 Stronach Mt Rd in Melvern Square. Rain or shine.

JULY 10

Bridge - at the Margaretsv­ille Fire Hall, 2768 Highway 362. Bi-weekly until the end of September. Lunch at 12 Noon followed by an afternoon of Bridge. Cost is $12 per person. To book a table of four contact Wenda 825-4067.
