Irene Marie Weatherbee

– 82, of New Minas, formerly of Wolfville, passed away on Monday, January

15, 2018 at home. Born in Dartmouth, she was a daughter of the late George “Bob” and Genevieve “Jenny” (Morrow) Hilchey. She had been employed as a printer with Babcock’s Printing and Stationary for many years. She was a life member and former secretary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Dr. C.B. Lumsden Branch No. 74, Wolfville. She is survived by a brother, Donald (Irene) Hilchey, Comox, British Columbia; her best friend, Marion Sutherland, with whom she enjoyed daily conversati­ons and the weekly Lexicon; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predecease­d by her husband, Lewis; an infant brother, George and a brother, Kenneth. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. with a Royal Canadian Legion service to be held

at 7:30, Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiatin­g . Burial will take place at a later date in the Willow Bank Cemetery, Wolfville. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciati­on to best friend, Marion, Dr. Mossman, homecare and to Reverend Gary Manthorne for their care, kindness and compassion.
