Geocaching event means food, friendship, and outdoor fun
There are 12 new caches hidden on the Alpena road between Inglisville Road and Highway 201. Sweis Ubels can help you find them.
He’s an organizer of a free, funfilled day of geocaching in Inglisville on Feb. 24.
www.geocaching.com promises there will be “food, friendship, geocaching stories, door prizes, and a warm place to meet - what’s there not to like?”
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and plans are for a potluck lunch starting at noon.
Instruction and demonstrations are available so people can learn about geocaching.
The event goes until 1 p.m., but after that you can explore the area. Ubels said there is cellphone reception in the area so smartphones with the right app will work.
Bring snowshoes, rubber boots, or anything else conditions may require. The Annapolis County Recreation Department will have several sets of snowshoes available on sight for your use.
In case of extreme weather, the ‘storm date’ has been set for March 3 - same time, same place.
