Threats, driving and failure to attend court all issues at court

Conditiona­l discharge for uttering threat

Blaine Perry Giberson, 30, of no fixed address, has been handed a conditiona­l discharge with probation for uttering a death threat.

Giberson changed his plea to guilty on Jan. 24 and the matter was adjourned to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing. On May 9, Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek handed Giberson a conditiona­l discharge with nine months of probation. Giberson committed the offence in Kingston on Aug. 12, 2017.

Breathalys­er offence

Kristofer Spencer Josey, 23, of Dartmouth, has been fined for having the care or control of a motor vehicle while his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.

Josey changed his plea to guilty on May 10. Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek fined Josey a total of $1,300 and imposed a one-year driving prohibitio­n against him.

Josey committed the offence in New Minas on Aug. 27, 2017. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. Josey gave breathalys­er readings of 100 and 100.

Drove while disqualifi­ed

Laura Elaine Llewellyn, 33, of Kentville, has been fined for operating a motor vehicle while disqualifi­ed from doing so by an order of the court.

Llewellyn pleaded guilty to the charge on May 8. Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek fined Llewellyn a total of $195 and imposed a oneyear driving prohibitio­n against her. Llewellyn committed the offence in Kentville on Oct. 7, 2017.

Failed to attend court

Charlene Ann Coyle, 50, of Kingston, has been fined for failing to attend court in accordance with a Promise to Appear in which she had been named.

Coyle pleaded guilty to the charge on May 8. Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek fined Coyle a total of $65.

Coyle committed the offence in Kentville on March 27.
