NKEC girls team picks up first win

When the two clos­est ri­vals of the Val­ley High School Girls Hockey League bat­tled it out in the first game of the sea­son, North­east Kings walked away as the win­ners.

NKEC earned two points in its 4-0 win against Hor­ton, with Ri­ley Ab­bott pick­ing up all four goals for the Ti­tans. An as­sist went to An­neke Ra­fuse on one of the goals.

NKEC will next host the Bar­ring­ton Barons at the Glooscap Dis­trict Arena at 9 p.m. on Nov. 3, while Hor­ton will face off against the Avon View Avalanche on Nov. 10, also at 9 p.m., at the Glooscap Dis­trict Arena.
