An­napo­lis County pair re­manded on theft, firearm, drug charges

A man and woman from Spa Springs face theft, firearm and drug charges, RCMP say.

Bridgetown RCMP re­sponded Nov. 1 at about 11 a. m. to a re­port that scrap me­tal had been stolen from an ad­dress in South Wil­liamston.

The sus­pects had left the scene by the time the call was placed to po­lice.

Po­lice said the sus­pects were ar­rested at a home in Nic­taux with­out in­ci­dent. A search of their ve­hi­cle al­legedly re­vealed the stolen scrap me­tal, metham­phetamine and a loaded and un­safely stored firearm.

Other stolen prop­erty re­lated to a pre­vi­ous theft was also al­legedly found in the ve­hi­cle, in­clud­ing per­sonal iden­ti­fi­ca­tion, lap­tops and a com­puter tablet.

Po­lice ex­e­cuted a search war­rant early Nov. 3 at a home in Spa Springs and say they re­cov­ered ad­di­tional metham­phetamine, guns and stolen prop­erty, as well as hy­dro­mor­phone.

Daniel Roger Jodoin, 42, and Shan­non Cor­rine Lee Jodoin, 46, are charged with theft un­der $ 5,000, two counts of pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty, six counts of un­safe stor­age of a firearm, 12 counts of breach­ing re­lease con­di­tions, two counts of break and en­ter, two counts of pos­ses­sion of drugs, and four counts of vi­o­lat­ing a weapons pro­hi­bi­tion.

The ac­cused have been re­manded un­til their next ap­pear­ance in Digby pro­vin­cial court on Nov. 29.

RCMP said the in­ves­ti­ga­tion is on­go­ing and more charges are ex­pected.
