Annapolis County pair remanded on theft, firearm, drug charges
A man and woman from Spa Springs face theft, firearm and drug charges, RCMP say.
Bridgetown RCMP responded Nov. 1 at about 11 a. m. to a report that scrap metal had been stolen from an address in South Williamston.
The suspects had left the scene by the time the call was placed to police.
Police said the suspects were arrested at a home in Nictaux without incident. A search of their vehicle allegedly revealed the stolen scrap metal, methamphetamine and a loaded and unsafely stored firearm.
Other stolen property related to a previous theft was also allegedly found in the vehicle, including personal identification, laptops and a computer tablet.
Police executed a search warrant early Nov. 3 at a home in Spa Springs and say they recovered additional methamphetamine, guns and stolen property, as well as hydromorphone.
Daniel Roger Jodoin, 42, and Shannon Corrine Lee Jodoin, 46, are charged with theft under $ 5,000, two counts of possession of stolen property, six counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, 12 counts of breaching release conditions, two counts of break and enter, two counts of possession of drugs, and four counts of violating a weapons prohibition.
The accused have been remanded until their next appearance in Digby provincial court on Nov. 29.
RCMP said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
