Liberal Party announces Richard T. Lee as their candidate from Burnaby South

Burnaby: The Liberal Party of Canada has announced that accomplish­ed community leader and longtime MLA Richard T. Lee will be the Team Trudeau candidate for Burnaby South in the upcoming federal by-election. “Richard Lee has a proven commitment to public service, and he has dedicated his career to making life better for Burnaby families,” said Suzanne Cowan, President of the Liberal Party of Canada. “We are honoured to welcome Richard to Team Trudeau as our Liberal candidate in this important by-election, and after sixteen years of service in the BC Legislatur­e, I know he will be a strong and trusted voice for Burnaby South in Parliament.” Richard represente­d Burnaby as a Member of the BC Legislativ­e Assembly for sixteen years, where he also served as a Parliament­ary Secretary and became the first Chinese-canadian to serve as Deputy Speaker of the Legislatur­e. He and his wife Anne have lived in Burnaby for 32 years and have raised their three children in the community, and he will work closely with Justin Trudeau to strengthen our middle class and grow the local economy.
