In the June issue of Azure, Elizabeth Pagliacolo offered plenty of food for thought when she wrote about the proposed combination of plant material and A.I. in the buildings of tomorrow (“Future World,” page 044). Reader Ian Chodikoff of Toronto was among those who ate it up. “I just read through the latest issue on Zinio and was thoroughly impressed by the content,” he said via email. “There are always shifts going on in the design industry, and I’m becoming increasingly excited by (or is it aware of?) plant and food design with respect to cities, homes, building materials, etc.” Food also featured prominently at this year’s AZ Awards gala, where attendees enjoyed a sumptuous spread both before and after the prizes were handed out (to projects including a sleek taquería in Mexico City). “The execution was amazing, as always,” product designer Hanae Baruchel said of the ceremony, held at Toronto’s Evergreen Brick Works on June 22. “Each time I go to an Azure event I feel super grateful for the contributions you’re making to the design community.” Check out page 112 in this issue for more on the gala. And keep those comments coming to feedback@azureon
