Apparently, it takes an act of guerrilla gardening to get a sinkhole filled. That’s what some Toronto residents found out last month in the Rathnelly neighbourhood. Reportedly, the hole in the road several feet deep had been there for months, and a green-thumbed local decided to plant tomatoes and see what would happen. They did very well. After news of the plants went viral, the city finally responded and took care of the sinkhole. Worry not, tomato lovers, the precious plant will live on in a nearby community garden. Don’t you love a happy ending.
