Doctors in Toronto, and other cities, can now issue prescriptions for free visits to places such as the Royal Ontario Museum or for activities like yoga classes. Ontario's Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is funding a pilot program to test out the idea of social prescriptions for non-clinical services, across the province. It runs for another year until December 2019. The ROM has developed a social prescription program that kicks off this month wherein it is offering 5,000 free passes to those with the appropriate referrals.
