Burnaby-based Onecoffee, which introduced 90-percent biodegrada­ble single-serve coffee pods in 2013, recently achieved 100-percent compostabl­e certificat­ion from the Biodegrada­ble Products Institute Inc. in New York. The pods, sold at major retailers and through Amazon.com, are made with plantbased resin.

Launched by Darrell Kopke, a former executive at Lululemon Athletica Inc. and Kit and Ace, and Toronto tailor Michael Nguyen, the company takes its ethos of sportsmans­hip from the game of rugby.
