gym gems

Whether they o er women-only workouts, babysitting, or an outstanding juice bar, Canada’s gyms know how to cater to their clientele. Here are a few of our faves.

Best Health - - EDITORS’ CHOICE -

BEST HOTEL GYM

Working out away from home can be tricky, but the Westin Bayshore, Vancouver takes the hotel gym experience to the next level. Sure, the fitness centre is kitted out with the high-quality equipment you’d expect, but we were more impressed by the little extras: complimentary headphones and bottled water, New Balance gear available for loan, running maps for the city, and some super cool classes like Liquid Yoga, a flow class done on floating mats in the pool (which, for the record, is way harder than it looks!).

BEST SHOPPING

SpinCo: the newest Toronto location boasts a wide range of workout gear for sale. You’ll find SPINCO branded wear from the hot leggings brand Lilybod and custom S’well water bottles, so you can treat yourself to the latest and greatest in activewear.

BEST ATMOSPHERE

Tight Club: This Vancouver fave is casual, edgy and embodies a healthy, no-judgments attitude toward exercise. Working out here is as much about sharpening your mind and creativity as it is about tightening your body. With a welcoming neighbourhood vibe, it’s easy to make Tight Club friends and feel part of a community that’ll keep you coming back for more.
