Fueled by artistry and driven by quality and commitment, this Canmore retreat imparts the impeccable practices of a discerning builder. A residence bursting with dazzling custom character that embraces innovative design around every corner, it is a dizzying prospect to identify only a select number of extraordinary elements due to sheer volume!

A brilliant blend of premium finishes, superb style, and enviable craftsmanship defines this one-of-a-kind residence that enjoys 360-degree Rocky Mountain views. A custom homebuilder and renovator in Canmore and Calgary since 2006, Style Developments has proven time and again that they are capable and equipped with the skills and knowledge to satisfy client expectations with the highest standards of quality.

Partners Kyle Mcgill and Scott Janisch have been seasoned in an industry that covets excellence. “We are both journeymen carpenters and have expertise in all aspects of construction from the ground up. But where we excel is in unique features—ideas that our clients can visualize that we take to completion,” shares Kyle Mcgill, who is proud of their team’s distinctive achievements. “With stunning views from every room, it’s hard to simply walk past windows without taking a moment to soak in the surrounding beauty.”

A traditional structural timber frame home that features a mountain contemporary design of unique measure, the interiors were greatly impacted by the homeowners, capturing many European influences such as marble floors, ornate fireplaces, and a barrel-vaulted main hallway with arched timbers that blends with countless modern finishes.

“We have built six homes so far, so we had a very clear idea of what works for us in terms of layout and amenities,” share the homeowners, who were well aware of their specific needs in terms of rooms, space, and flow and designed the house accordingly. “We enjoy the design process and continually looked at new ideas and features that we could incorporate. In essence, we combined our prior experience and knowledge with all the new information we came across to create a home that fit our lifestyle and met our requirements as comprehensively as possible.”

With emphasis on entertainment, the home hosts three luxurious guest suites besides the master, a scenic wine room, a full gym, multiple wet bars throughout, plus a dual-tiered home theatre within its prolific 7,800 square feet of engaging interiors. The wrap-around patio on the second level offers abundant outdoor living areas that engage its very scenic and desirable corner lot setting.

Though large in size, the home incorporates energy-saving features that includes comprehensive LED lighting with automated motion sensors for room-in-use function, energy-efficient windows, inclusive spray foam insulation, high efficiency furnaces plus boilers that fuel in-floor heat that warms the lower level.

Hosting incredible luxury, this European-inspired residence rallies for top billing amidst Canmore’s natural beauty. “The build took several years due the extreme level of customization required. The level of detail in every room is staggering,” admits partner, Scott Janisch. “There could be months of effort in just a few square feet.”

The homeowners worked with local architect Tanya Larsen of Alpine Designs based in Canmore to commence the design process and Adam Wright of KSA Architects who assisted on the details and interior elements throughout the balance of the project. “We love the flow and functionality of the home,” admit the homeowners. “It has design elements that work perfectly to meet our lifestyle requirements and desires, ranging from work to wellness. In essence, it is a self-contained eco system that enables us to optimally function on all levels.”

Spacious and exquisitely crafted, the residence reels from internal views that indulge its Rocky Mountain chic appeal. “The level of involvement and design detail from the client was astounding,” adds Janisch. “They were very knowledgeable with discerning tastes and appreciate the finest of details. It tested the skills of every person involved, and most rose to the occasion.”

“Kyle and Scott of Style Developments were a pleasure to work with,” commend the homeowners. “Their undying commitment to helping us achieve our ideal living environment is admirable, starting on day one of their involvement and continues still in dealing with any and all issues that arise. There are always minor variations that require flexibility from all involved, but ultimately, the entire team, including many of the excellent trades we worked with, helped us create a home that is truly ours.”
