This year K&W Audio celebrates 40 years in business. “We started as enthusiasts who wanted to help people get great gear, and that hasn’t changed,” admits K&W Audio owner, Darren Lane. Change is constant in the electronics world and new offerings are always exciting. “Of course many things have transformed, but the fundamentals endure. K& W Audio’s staff of professionals provides a helpful, allencompassing approach. They design, build, install, program, and maintain quality home automation, music, and entertainment systems. In essence they do it all.

Designed to dazzle, this home embodies a seamless integration of home control and entertainment with form and function. According to Darren, “When involved from the beginning, we ensure the client’s wants and needs are addressed right from the design phase. The result is harmony in both décor and operation.”

A Control 4 system operates the music, video, lighting, security, HVAC, and other specialty functions, including motorized blinds throughout the home. There are eleven areas with HD video and 16 rooms with high-resolution music. Simple ‘scenes’ are programmed in key areas to keep things easy, which are the execution of a variety of commands at the push of one button. For example, a ‘welcome’ scene activates a pathway of lights, a preferred playlist, and adjusts temperature, setting both mood and comfort for arriving home.

The home theater is a game changer, literally. With dual projection systems that overlap, a golf simulator with a retractable screen slides out of the way for more conventional, big screen entertainment. “We provide new home systems and we do retrofits as well,” adds Lane. With new homes we work with the builder to hide and harmonize the electronics, seating, and other custom finishes.
