You can count on Jackson Masonry to have the tools, providing the best quality brick, full bed natural stone, thin veneer natural stone, and manufactured stone in the business. Founder Lynsey Jackson is a second generation Red Seal journeyman bricklayer and a member of the Masonry Contractors Association of Alberta, where he has served as vice president. “We have worked for some of the best builders in Alberta,” says Jackson who has over twenty years of experience. Delivering results that often exceed expectations, he is proud of his team’s calibre and body of work that remains uncompromised.

“Everyone who works with us is either a Red Seal journeyman or an assigned indentured apprentice. We train young people and after four years they are ready and we keep them informed as to new styles as well as learning old skills,” admits Jackson who has also completed the Rumford Fireplace Program for Masons.

When it comes to trends, it’s best to ask the expert. “With brick we are seeing a darker palette of charcoals, graphites, and dark browns right now versus traditional reds and pinks. It’s making a big comeback on multifamily homes as manufactured stone has a limited shelf life and brick will last 100 years with no maintenance,” says Jackson.

With natural stone, moss rock is an emerging contender. “Moss dries and hardens and stays on the face of the stone, offering a variety of colours. Also on trend is square and rectangular oversized stones laid as a dry pack with no mortar joints,” observes Lynsey. “Natural stone takes longer but the quality remains.”

Brick and stone remain popular in decors with feature walls and fireplaces. Jackson Masonry builds many wood burning fireplaces and pizza ovens as well as outdoor kitchens, in addition to a lot of flatwork with full stone patios and retaining walls for landscaping. “We do many structural walls and firewalls made of concrete block and get involved in the early stages with the designer or architect to ensure that the design fits the requirements of our masonry options.”

Taking great pride in their workmanship they approach every project as though it were their own residence. “Our on-going commitment to excellence and long-lasting customer relationships is our company’s goal, which we maintain with some of the best tradesmen in western Canada,” concludes Lynsey Jackson.
