After recognizing the underutilized potential of the garage, Aaron Cash and two friends from the Ivey School of Business began exploring how to maximize homeowners’ lifestyles and house values. In 2005, they established Garage Living in Toronto, specializing in garage transformations. “We realized that there was literally no company that was dedicated to garage improvements and enhancements,” says Aaron Cash, President and Co-Founder of Garage Living, a quality committed garage transformation company in Canada and the United States. Today, Garage Living has over 37 franchises across North America, with the first Canadian franchise launched in Alberta in 2015. Collectively, Garage Living has undertaken more than 7,000 garage transformations.

Garage Living offers a full scope of options from flooring to storage solutions. As the garage becomes more integrated into the home, clients are creating spaces that can accommodate home gyms, entertainment centres, and home offices.

The company offers top-to-bottom customized solutions. Floortex™ floor coating, a proprietary floor finishing system, can transform an unfinished concrete floor into an attractive, durable one in just a few days.

Garage Living’s modular storage and custom cabinet systems are available in a large variety of configurations and colours. “People tend to use the garage as an overflow storage space,” says Cash, “but they don’t necessarily realize that you can maximize that space and make it look attractive. Our versatile PVC slatwall system can be configured to organize tools, cleaning supplies, sports equipment, and more.”

Overhead storage racks are the perfect solution for bulky seasonal items such as tires, decorations, and patio furniture, and Garage Living takes full advantage of underutilized ceiling space to create areas that attractive and clutter-free.

Following a consultation with the client to better understand their needs, Garage Living develops 3D renderings that reflect the client’s vision. A transformation typically takes two to four days to install with the work done in stages if preferred.

Offering convenience and function, Garage Living’s full service approach from start-to-finish provides the homeowner an opportunity to increase lifestyle function and value to their home.
