Best Health

DEAR READERS, THANKS FOR YOUR FEEDBACK. HERE ARE A FEW OF OUR FAVOURITE LETTERS THIS ISSUE:

- TAMMY DAY OLIVIA LECH CASSIDY COUTTS JANE OUIMET OSSIE BISPO

I appreciated the information in the interview with Sara Celik, “Make This Your Healthiest Year Ever.” Healthy living is a multifaceted practice that each of us needs to customize. We are more than just physical bodies — our emotional and spiritual aspects must be considered. I’ve experienced adverse hormonal symptoms with menopause, and the added burden of chronic stress. After nearly six years of ill health, I’m finally learning to disconnect from my stressors and my body has benefited. I enjoyed the “DIY Detox” article in the Dec/Jan issue — it made me reflect on my technology use, and I plan to implement the strategies included to eliminate unnecessary social media stress. “Do Nothing” is a very powerful step that is often overlooked, and I appreciate it being emphasized. Best Health is one of the top-tier Canadian health magazines, and I feel empowered after reading from cover to cover. In Best Health’s Dec/Jan issue, I loved the focus on making small life changes and setting achievable goals to improve well-being rather than focusing on large-scale resolutions for the new year. As a university student, I love discovering advice and ideas for how I can become more present and intentional in my life. Thanks Best Health for your consistent inspiration. I really enjoyed “The Change Maker” article about Barbara Cartwright. That was such an amazing story. I loved the whole theme of exploring links between human and animal violence. It was so enlightening, and it gave me hope for animals out there. I felt empowered after reading this article. The article “Guilty Party” was profound for me. I find myself emotionally exhausted during the holiday season, likely self-imposed, trying to be all things to everyone. I am not necessarily true to myself and always put myself last, unfortunately. I found this article not only useful, but life-changing. It allowed me to discuss the guilt and stress of the season with my loved ones.
