In­fla­tion has started to pick up in the U.S., but it hasn’t hit all goods and ser­vices equally. Fifty-four of the 187 com­po­nents of the con­sumer price in­dex were at least 1 per­cent less ex­pen­sive in Jan­uary than they were a year ear­lier. Below is a look at some of the items in the CPI that be­came costlier in the last 12 months and some that be­came cheaper.
